Be prepared to talk about yourself. Ayurveda emphasizes balance in all areas of your life. As a practitioner I will not only examine your body, but will take an extensive personal and medical history, including questions about daily diet, profession and working conditions, exercise routines, relationships, and mental health.
Ayurvedic examination generally consist of three parts: ‘Darshan’ (Observation), ‘Sparsha’ (Touch), ‘Prashna’ (Questions).
Observation (Darshan): first I will evaluate general physical health by looking at your body frame and observing your movements, body contour, colour of the skin and eyes, facial lines and ridges, shape of the nose, and qualities of the lips, hair, and nails.
Touch (Sparsha): then I will employ touch, including palpation (pressing down on parts of the body), auscultation, which is listening for sounds made by the internal organs), and percussion or tapping. There is special focus on the patient’s pulse, tongue, nails, and speech. Laboratory testing is also included under this category.
Questions (Prashna): I will ask you about complaints and symptoms, as well as the duration of discomfort and disease progression. I will also ask about mental and psychological conditions.
This in-depth process helps to identify key symptoms and potential causes of imbalance and determines suitable tailored treatments for each patient.
This session will help you to understand what is causing imbalance and how you can reduce accumulated toxins in your body, strengthen your digestive fire, and boost energy levels. I will suggest changes to your diet and lifestyle to suit your constitution and restore wellbeing.
The Ayurvedic treatments I provide are designed to not only alleviate physical discomfort and release tension but also to cleanse the body of toxins accumulated through emotional stress. This integrative approach has been shown to significantly improve overall health and mental wellbeing, fostering a harmonious balance in the lives of patients.
